POSITION
Summary:
Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. Check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers and process in accordance with banking regulations.

Tasks:
Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes and inform the appropriate staff within the timeframes required.
Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.
Use specialized software to transmit and receive funds and information.
Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports
Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records

Experience:
Associate's Degree and related on-the-job experience

years' work-related experience, skill or knowledge is required

years' Bank operations bookkeeping experience
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
