COTS Support Specialist
Location: Ideal/ College Station, TX.
Specifics: They want LOCAL candidates first- Will consider outside people- but MUST be very strong - NO travel really (remote for non local guy)
Status: MUST be US Citizen for this role
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and troubleshooting of third-party applications.
Manage configuration changes, patches, and updates to supported systems.
Develop technical & operational understanding of the environment.
Create and maintain high quality written documentation.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Meet deadlines and complete assignments in a timely manner while maintaining quality standards.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year College or university in related area.
Two to four years of experience supporting a set of complex, enterprise level applications in a production environment.
One year experience using a scripting language to automate tasks.
Experience with one or more of the following:
Linux
PERL Scripting
Windows Servers
IP Networking
SMTP
Power Shell
Visual Cron
Basic database knowledge, ideally with Oracle
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience with mainframe Job Control Language (in an emulation environment)
Exposure to Microfocus COBOLEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
