Successful candidates will play an absolute vital role in the care of our patients alongside our faculty veterinarians, residents, interns, and 4th year professional veterinary students.
This position is crucial in helping guide, teach, and mentor veterinarians of our future.
We have opportunities in a variety of specialties including anesthesiology, cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency medicine, general surgery, internal medicine, interventional radiology, neurology, oncology, operating room, ophthalmology, orthopedics, primary care, soft tissue, sports medicine, and rehabilitation.
The VMTH offers additional incentives for our veterinary technician staff to balance their careers, family, and pets.
The VMTH provides a generous cellphone allowance, opportunities for continuing education at the local, state, and national level, scrubs, discounted pet care, and much more.
Shift differential pay is available for eligible shifts.
There is opportunity for career ladder advancement as well as opportunity for licensed veterinary technicians to work towards specialty certification.
The Blinn Veterinary Technology Program is housed in the same building as the VMTH.
There are flexible work schedules for evening, overnight and weekend shifts in some service areas of the VMTH.
QualificationsWe have multiple Veterinary Technician positions available, and we are recruiting for all levels and shifts!Minimum qualifications for a Veterinary Technician Assistant - OR:
High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of related experience in sterile processing, veterinary or related medical setting.

35Other Requirements or FactorsWeekday shifts assigned by supervisor; which can be one of the following:
11a-8p, 10a-7p, 9a-6p, 8a-5p or 7a-4p.
Persons in this position are considered essential when the University declares an emergency, campus closure, class cancellations, etc.
, and are therefore required to report to work and remain on duty unless/until relieved by the direct supervisor.
May be required to work alternate shifts based on the surgery schedule or other assignments as needed.
Requires participating in Holiday coverage, as needed.
Provide quality customer service to internal and external customers/clients.
Essential Personnel:
This position is considered essential when the University declares an emergency, campus closure, class cancellations, etc.
, and are therefore required to report to work and remain on duty unless or until relieved by their direct supervisor.
