What we wantThe Career Center is pleased to announce the opening for a Career Services Coordinator who will be responsible for providing career and major advising, planning, and programming to Graduate (Master and PhD) Engineering students.
Key aspects of the position will focus on engaging students in areas of career planning, employer and industry research, job search skills/techniques, developing new and innovative programs, and identifying hands-on experiences and professional development opportunities.
This position will research, create, and engage employers and recruiting organizations on and off campus and will develop e-learning opportunities.
The ideal candidate will work well in a fast-paced environment, will successfully prioritize tasks and responsibilities, and will be a team player with experience building successful collaborations.
We are looking for someone who is able to research and execute innovative methods of digitally delivering career services to large student populations to include the design, development of models, and implementation of technologies including, on-line collaboration, live-streaming, LMS platforms, web-based presentations, and virtual instruction.

Required Education Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of experience in higher education, industry, or government in a role related to career services or advising, recruiting, training, or professional development.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent customer service and communication skills - interpersonal, written, and presentation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets, and database management.
Ability to represent the Career Center at university-wide events.
Preferred Education Master's or Doctoral degree.
Three or more years of progressively responsible experience, including career services and knowledge of international students' experience in higher education.
Leadership experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of Texas A&M Career Center software and operating procedures.
Job Responsibilities Manage Career Assistance Programs and Services - Provide career advising and career programming to graduate engineering students in the College of Engineering.
Advise students in the areas of career choice and career planning, employer and industry research, job search skills/techniques such as resume writing, job search strategies (for both U.
S.
and non-U.
S.
students), networking, interviewing, and salary evaluation.
Research, create, and execute innovative methods of digitally delivering career services to large student populations in Engineering to include the design, development of models, and implementation of technologies, including online collaboration, live-streaming, LMS platforms, web-based presentations, and virtual instruction.
Create and implement large-scale programs or events that connect employers by industry area to students, student organizations, and campus events, highlighting career options, and/or address specific areas consistently requested by students.
Programs, Campus Relations, and Employer Engagement - Lead presentations highlighting services and special programs available through this position to constituent groups throughout campus and within the community.
Meet regularly (once each semester or year, to be determined by the coordinator) with advisors and select faculty within the program area.
Create reports each semester for faculty and administration within the program area as requested.
Create and submit special programs to be presented at regional and national conferences.
Interact with employers at campus events, conferences, and other regional events to increase opportunities for students in program area.
Provide those employers with information about students and processes for recruiting on campus.
Resource Development - Compile resources that provide information regarding career-related information for graduate engineering students.
Conduct both quantitative and qualitative research to determine the technical and professional skills that students must possess to succeed in their chosen careers, including industry and employment trends, employer expectations, and tools for assessment of students' mastery of these skills.
Develop new resources, both electronic and hard-copy, for students, engineering advisors and faculty.
Maintain website content for this population on the Career Center website and develop new content.
Contribute to social media and web content regularly for the Career Center.
Professional Development - Participate in Career Center, University, and professional organization training and development offerings.
Work closely with supervisor in setting and attaining goals established as part of regular performance evaluations.
Stay up-to-date with e-learning technologies, data analysis and formatting/presentation of analytical information, latest hiring trends, and student development practices.
Support of Career Center Initiatives - Support the Career Center mission by participating in programs and services including the presentation of workshops and events, walk-in advising, committee work, and weekly meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
